At the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, she directed program administration and outreach for the US government's premier international exchange, the International Visitor Leadership Program. Alumni of this prestigious program include more than 300 chiefs of state and heads of government, thousands of cabinet-level ministers, and many other distinguished leaders from around the world. While serving in this capacity, Ms. Lampher managed an annual budget appropriation of more than $80 million and public-private partnerships with some of the world's leading international education and development organizations, including the Institute for International Education, the Academy for Educational Development, World Learning, Meridian International, and the National Council for International Visitors and its network of more than 90 international visitor centers and 80,000 volunteers throughout the US. Previously, Ms. Lampher held executive positions with Youth For Understanding International Exchange and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. She has consulted with government and nonprofit organizations including the embassies of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland, the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel, and Presidential Classroom. Ms. Lampher studied international relations at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Grenoble, France and international management at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. She also completed advanced leadership training at the US Department of State's Foreign Service Institute. She is a member of the Society for International Development and the Women's Foreign Policy Group.
